4. Analysis tools and advertising

Google Analytics

This website uses functions of the web analysis service Google Analytics. The provider is Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”. These are text files that are stored on your computer and enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

Google Analytics cookies are stored on the basis of Article 6 Paragraph 1 EU GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analysing user behaviour in order to optimise both his website and his advertising.

IP- Anonymity

We have activated the IP anonymity function on this website. This will cause your IP address to be shortened by Google within Member States of the European Union or in other countries party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area before being transmitted to the USA. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide the website operator with other services relating to website and Internet use. The IP address transmitted by your browser in the context of Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data.

Browser Plugin

You may disable the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. You can also prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookie and relating data on your use of the website (including your IP address) and from processing this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en.

You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your data by clicking on the following link:

More information on how Google Analytics handles user data can be found in Google’s privacy policy: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=en.

Order data processing

We have a contract with Google for order data processing and fully implement the strict requirements of the German data protection authorities for the use of Google Analytics.

Demographic features on Google Analytics

This website uses the “demographic features” function of Google Analytics. This allows reports to be created that contain information on the age, gender and interests of site visitors. This data comes from interest-related advertising by Google and from visitor data from third-party providers. This data cannot be assigned to a specific person. You can disable this feature at any time from your Google Account advertisement preferences or opt-out of Google Analytics collecting your information as described in the “Opt-out of data collection” section.

Google Analytics Re-marketing

Our websites use the functions of Google Analytics Re-marketing in connection with the cross-device functions of Google AdWords and Google DoubleClick. The provider is Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

This function enables the target groups created with Google Analytics Re-marketing to be linked with the cross-device functions of Google AdWords and Google DoubleClick. In this way, interest-related, personalised advertising messages that were adapted to you depending on your previous usage and surfing behaviour on one device (e.g. mobile phone) can also be displayed on another of your devices (e.g. tablet or PC).

Once you give your permission, Google will link your web and app browsing history to your Google Account for that purpose. This way, the same personalised advertising messages can be delivered to every device you sign in to with your Google Account.

To support this feature, Google Analytics collects Google authenticated user IDs that are temporarily linked to our Google Analytics data to define and create cross-device ad targeting.

You can permanently object to cross-device re-marketing/targeting by disabling personalised advertising in your Google Account by following this link: https://www.google.com/settings/ads/onweb/.

The summary of the data collected in your Google Account is based solely on your consent, which you can submit or revoke via Google (Article. 6 paragraph 1 DSGVO). For data collection operations that are not merged into your Google Account (for example, because you do not have a Google Account or have opposed the merge), the collection of data is based on Article 6 paragraph 1 EU GDPR. The legitimate interest arises from the fact that the website operator has an interest in anonymous analysis of website visitors for advertising purposes.

Further information and the data protection regulations can be found in Google’s data protection declaration at: https://www.google.com/policies/technologies/ads/.

6. Newsletter

Newsletter data

If you would like to subscribe to the newsletter offered on the website, we require an e-mail address from you as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the e-mail address provided and that you agree to receive the newsletter. Further data will not be collected or only on a voluntary basis. We use this data exclusively for the sending of the requested information and do not pass the data on to third parties.

The data entered in the newsletter registration form will be processed exclusively on the basis of your consent (Article 6 paragraph 1 EU GDPR). MailChimp

This website uses the services of MailChimp for sending newsletters. The provider is Rocket Science Group LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE, Suite 5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA.

MailChimp is a service with which the sending of newsletters can be organised and analysed. If you enter data for the purpose of newsletter subscription (e.g. e-mail address), these are stored on the servers of MailChimp in the USA.

MailChimp is certified according to the “EU-US-Privacy-Shield”. The “Privacy Shield” is an agreement between the European Union (EU) and the USA to ensure compliance with European data protection standards in the USA.

With the help of MailChimp we can analyse our newsletter campaigns. When you open an e-mail sent with MailChimp, a file contained in the e-mail (so-called web beacon) connects to the MailChimp servers in the USA. This allows us to determine whether a newsletter message has been opened and which links have been clicked. In addition, technical information is recorded (e.g. time of retrieval, IP address, browser type and operating system). This information cannot be assigned to the respective newsletter recipient. They are used exclusively for statistical analysis of newsletter campaigns. The results of these analyses can be used to better adapt future newsletters to the interests of the recipients.

If you do not want MailChimp to analyse your data, you must unsubscribe from the newsletter. For this purpose, we provide a link in every newsletter message. You can also unsubscribe from the newsletter directly on the website.

The data will be processed on the basis of your consent (Article 6 paragraph 1 EU GDPR). You can revoke this consent at any time by cancelling the newsletter. The legality of the data processing processes already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation.

The data stored for the purpose of newsletter subscription will be stored by us until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and will be deleted from our servers as well as from the servers of MailChimp after you unsubscribe from the newsletter. Data stored by us for other purposes (e.g. e-mail addresses for the member area) remain unaffected by this.

Further details can be found in the data protection regulations of MailChimp at: https://mailchimp.com/legal/terms/.
